Shaping Evolution is a video showing imaginary creatures that were evolved by a computer program written by Gordon Monro. Each creature has 'DNA' that generates the image. The video consists of short sequences showing the DNA of a creature followed by a sequence of ancestors of the creature, leading up to the creature itself.

The video was created by software written by Gordon Monro.

The video is produced by the same process used to make the Shaping Evolution prints, though the creatures shown in the video are different from those in the prints.
