Program note

Mandala 1086 is composed entirely of sine waves. It is an interpretation in sound of the following sequence of complex numbers:
TeX format: $\left(\sum_{k=0}^n e^{2\pi ik^3/1086} \right)_{n=0,\dots,1086}\quad.$

The same formula interpreted geometrically gives this geometric picture (the colours are arbitrary):

The piece is available on CD, or as a stereo sound track on a DVD; the video on the DVD is a static image of the mandala (for projection during performance).
